செங்கற் பொடிக்கூரை வெண்பல் தவத்தவர்
தங்கள் திருக்கோயில் சங்கிடுவான் போதன்றார்
எங்களை முன்னம் எழுப்புவான் வாய்பேசும்
நங்காய் எழுந்திராய் நாணாதாய் நாவுடையாய்
சங்கோடு சக்கரம் ஏந்தும் தடக்கையன்
பங்கயக் கண்ணானைப் பாடேலோர் எம்பாவாய்.
இப்பாடலில், ஆண்டாள் எதைத் தெரிவித்து, பொழுது விடிந்துவிட்டது எனக் கூறுகிறாள்?
1. புழக்கடைத் தோட்டத்தில் உள்ள குட்டையில் (வாவி) உள்ள செங்கழுநீர் மலர்கள் விரிந்து விட்டன. ஆம்பல் மலர்கள் குவிந்து விட்டன. காலையில் செங்கழுநீர் மலரும். மாலை வந்தால் அவை கூம்பும். மாலையில் ஆம்பல் மலரும், காலைக் கதிரைக் கண்டவுடன் அவைக் கூம்பும். "செங்கழுநீர் மலர்ந்ததையும், ஆம்பல் கூம்பியதையும் பார்" என்கிறாள்.
2. காவி உடை உடுத்தியவரும், வெண்ணிறப் பற்கள் உடையவருமான அடியார்கள்,கோயிலுக்குச் செல்கின்றனர். அங்கு சென்று சங்கை ஊதுவார்கள்.
இவ்வாறு கூறிவிட்டு, இன்னொரு தகவலைத் தருகிறாள். " 'நாளை உங்களை எழுப்புகிறேன்' என்று கூறிய நீ, இன்னும் எழாது இருக்கிறாயே? வார்த்தை தவறிவிட்டோம் என்ற நாணம் இல்லாத நாக்கினை உடையவளே" என்று, அந்தப் பெண்ணை அழைத்து, "எழுந்திராய்" என்கிறாள்.

The saints (thavatthavar) who wear red clothes (sengal podi koorai) and who have white teeth (veN pal) are going (pOdhandhaar) to the temple (thirukkoyil) to blow the conch (sangu).
There is another information regarding this girl. She has promised to wake up others (engalai munnam ezhuppuvaan vaai paesum nangaai), but she has not yet done. She is still asleep. So AndAl calls her nANAthaai naavudaiyaai (the one who doesnt feel ashamed for having not kept up the words).
