மாரி மலைமுழைஞ்சில் மன்னிக் கிடந்து உறங்கும்
சீரிய சிங்கம் அறிவுற்றுத் தீவிழித்து
வேரிமயிர் பொங்க எப்பாடும் பேர்ந்து உதறி
மூரி நிமிர்ந்து முழங்கிப் புறப்பட்டுப்
போரருமா போலேநீ பூவைப்பூ வண்ணா உன்
கோயில்நின்று இங்ஙனே போந்தருளிக் கோப்புடைய
சீரிய சிங்கா சனத்து இருந்து யாம்வந்த
காரியம் ஆராய்ந்து அருளேலோர் எம்பாவாய்.
மாரி - மழைக்காலம்
மலை முழைஞ்சில் - மலையில் உள்ள குகை.
மழைக்காலத்தில், மலையில் உள்ள குகையில் படுத்துறங்கும், பெருமை மிக்க சிங்கம், அந்த மழைக்காலம் முடிந்தவுடன், துயிலெழுந்து, கூர்மையான கண்களால் பார்க்கும். பின்னர், தன் உடலை ஒரு உதறுதறி, வேரி மயிர் எழும்ப, நிமிர்ந்து எழுந்து, கர்ஜித்து நடக்கத் தொடங்கும். அதுபோல, கண்ணா, பூவைப் பூ போன்ற நிறம் கொண்டவனே, உன் கோயிலின் வாசலுக்கு நீ வர வேண்டும். சிங்கம் போல நடை நடந்து வர வேண்டும்.
பின்னர், பெருமை மிகவுடைய சிம்மாசனத்தில் அமர்ந்து, எங்களது வேண்டுதல்களை பரிசீலித்து, அருள வேண்டும்.
எட்டாவது பாடலில், ஆவாவென்று ஆராய்ந்து அருள் என்று பாடுகிறாள். இங்கு, "யாம் வந்த காரியம் ஆராய்ந்து அருள்" என்கிறாள்.

In this song, the Lord has awaken from sleep. Andal describes it as a lion coming out of the den after the autumn is over.
During rainy season (mAri), Lion (seeriya singam) will be sleeping inside the den (mannik kidandhu uRangum) under the mountain (malai muzhainjil). Once the rain is over, it will wake up (aRivutRu) and see the external world with its sparkling eyes (thee vizhitthu). Then it will get up from that place. How?
It will rise up by shaking its body and mane (vEri mayir ponga eppaadum pOrndhu udhaRi) and then will stand up in a majestic way (moori nimirndhu) and roar (muzhangi). After that it will come out of the den (puRappattu).
Like that (pOdharumaa pOlE), Lord Krishna (poovai poo vanna) comes out of his palace (un kOyil nindru inngane pOndhu aruLi) and sits on His beautiful throne (kOppudaiya, seeriya singAsanatthu irundhu).
After sitting on the throne, Andal asks the lord to shower boons on them after analysing their motives (kAriyam Araaindhu aruL).
In the eight song too, Andaal stresses on giving boons after analysis (aavaavendru aaraaindhu arul). Boons should be given to those whose motive are for World's good. Not all seekers should be granted boons.
